Jeff Wedgewood; owner of Royal Home Improvements has been in the residential remodel industry his whole life. As a child he worked summers and weekends with his father who built homes. He learned a lot about construction, working hard, earning an honest living, and also about Midwest work values from his father. Bob Wedgewood (Jeff’s father) is a talented Master Carpenter who passed on his love of wood working and taking pride in what you do to his son. One of Bob’s favorites sayings has always been “if it’s worth doing, it’s worth doing right”.

Jeff took what his father taught him to heart and has always put quality ahead of quantity. This lesson has served him well throughout his career and propelled his advancement through the three major home improvement companies he has had the privilege to work for and learn from in his over 25 years in the business.

  Starting out as a siding installer’s apprentice at the age of 18, Jeff quickly soaked in all of the knowledge he could and started his own crew. After several years as a lead siding producer he transitioned to window installs. After showing a willingness to work hard and put forth the upmost quality of work Jeff was promoted to production manager at the young age of 24. It was then that he developed his lead by example and work in the trenches leadership style that earned the respect of his staff. After advancing and growing the installations department to its full potential Jeff took on his next challenge; sales.

  Jeff took the same drive and dogged determination approach into sales but soon realized it was a whole different beast. It seemed that most people he met with to discuss prospective projects had negative expectations (to put it politely) towards the home improvement salesmen. Jeff spent the next few years going through different sales training courses before realizing that people don’t want to be sold something but instead prefer to be educated on what you do and how you do it in order to help them make the best decision for their particular project. It’s been this straightforward style of relating to potential customers, being a good listener, and attention to details that made him a top seller for one of Kansas City’s biggest residential remodeling companies.

 Which brings us to now; it’s always been Jeff’s dream to build his own company and create a lasting legacy for his sons. Royal home improvements is that company that he hopes becomes the legacy. It truly is our mission to help each of our valued customers to realize their homes full potential with honesty and integrity so they will be proud to sing our praises. If successful in our mission we will have ability to give back to the community and build something his sons can continue to grow with the same values and pride passed down from his father.
